PARENT GROUP OFFICER ELECTIONS
Officers for the 2008-09 school year will be elected at the May 22 meeting. All parents of Band and Guard students are automatically voting members in the Parent Group. All parents are also eligible to fill the officer or committee chair positions. We are looking for volunteers to step up for some key roles........MORE

VICTORIA BOUND THIS SATURDAY
Call time is 6:15 Saturday morning at school to begin our spring trip. Saturday afternoon we will march in the annual Rhododendron Festival parade at Port Townsend, Washington. Then on to British Columbia. Sunday afternoon we will play a short performance on the steps of the BC Parliament Building in Victoria. Monday is a national holiday Canada and we will march in the annual Island Farms Victoria Day parade before returning to Westview late Monday evening.

ROSE FESTIVAL DISCOUNTS OFFERED TO THE WESTVIEW BAND FAMILY
The Portland Rose Festival is offering discount tickets for various Festival events to students and parents of participating bands. Discounts are available for parade seating at Memorial Coliseum, the Rose Show, Concert in the Park, Waterfront Village, and Rose Cup races. Click here for more information about how to order.

WELCOME PARENTS OF INCOMING FRESHMEN
8th Graders are completing forecasting for their freshman year. If your child will be in Westview's band program next year, Welcome! We hope you'll be active in the Parent Group as one way of supporting your child's musical education. As a first step, you're invited to the monthly meeting of the Parent Group on May 22.
